3rd & 4th Grades
5th & 6th Grades
7 – 9th Grades

League Information
- Player fees - will be the responsibility of the registering group or organization. The fees can vary dependent upon the group or organization.
- Rosters - can be unlimited in number but must be turned in prior to the first game.
- League Play will consist of 12 league games.
- Along with a year ending tournament in a modified double elimination format.
- Organizations with more than one team need to balance teams talent wise the best they can.
- Solicitation or recruitment to build a team of traveling or select type status is not allowed.

Playing Rules
- Playing rules will be governed by ASA fast pitch rules with League modifications.
- A copy of modifications and hi-lited rules for coach or player benefit is available.
- We may discuss modifications and make changes as the season goes.

All Grades Modified Rules
- Game Length – Seven (7) innings or 80 minutes, no inning is to start after the 80th minute.
- Game Times Start 5:45 pm & 7:15 pm
- Definition of a new inning – Immediately after the third (3rd) out is made in the bottom of an inning.
- Minimum to start a game – Eight (8) - Players arriving late will be placed in the batting line after the eighth spot.
- Shorthanded Rule – A team can chose to play with eight (8) or than can borrow from the team they are playing. They can also borrow a player from another team as long as that player fits the grade level or a grade level below. The borrowed player must be registered with one of the teams in this league.
- Jewelry - Is not to be worn, medical information bracelets are allowed.
- Players Leaving Early – This is allowed and the team will not record an out. This player can not return to the game. Exception: Blood rule or injured player may resume their spot in the batting order.

All Grade Group Rules Modifications For Offense
- Helmets – Should have chin straps and face masks
- Batting Order – Players will bat in continual order whether they play the field or not during that inning.
- Crashing – A base runner will be called out at home plate if she remains on her feet while a defensive player is holding the ball or about to receive the ball. Rule of thumb – if the defensive player tags the runner but the runner is called safe then the runner should have slid.
- Interference – At any base and the fielder has the ball or about to receive the ball and the runner crashes into the defender. Effect – The ball is dead and the runner is out. Each runner must return to the last base occupied.
- Speed Up Rule – Have your catchers ready prior to the 3rd out. The catcher can also be pinched ran for so she can get the gear on. The pinch runner will be the last person whom made an out.
- Five (5) warm up pitches per inning.

All Grade Group Rules Modifications Defense
Line up – Ten (10) players in total, four (4) outfield and playing from the outfield grass.
Substitutions – Are unlimited and a minimum of two (2) innings must played in the field. No substitutions (except pitcher) can me made once an inning starts unless for an injured player.
Obstruction – Fielder not in possession or act of fielding the ball but impedes the runner. Effect – The balls is dead and the runner(s) allowed to advance to the base.

Grade 3rd & 4th Rules Modifications

- Pitching machine is used at this age level. The speed will be set and monitored / operated by the umpire. The pitcher will play on either side of the machine.
- Runs / At Bat – Five (5) is the most allowed. This includes the last at bat.
- Dropped 3rd Strike – Batters out
- Lead Off – Not Allowed, if batter swings and misses it is acceptable.
- Stealing – Not Allowed
- Infield Fly – Not in effect
- Over Throw – Runner(s) allowed one (1) base
- Timeout – Pitcher or player can call timeout in the 8 ft circle or near the pitching machine. Runners less than halfway must return to their base.
- Base Distance – Fifty (50) feet

Grade 5th & 6th Rules Modifications

- Pitching Distance – Forty (40) feet Base Distance – Sixty (60) feet
- Pitching Style – ASA or WIAA rules apply. Both styles require the pitcher to start with both feet on the rubber. ASA only allows for the stride leg to go forward. WIAA allows for the stride leg to take a step back then stride back towards the batter. Should a team have pitchers that intend pitching beyond rec league levels they need learn to pitch using ASA regulations.
- Pitchers can pitch 3 innings. One pitch in an inning constitutes an inning pitched.
- Runs / At Bat – Five (5) is the most allowed per at bat. Includes the last at bat.
- Dropped 3rd Strike – Batters out
- Lead Off – If batter swings and misses it is acceptable or when the ball hits the catchers mitt.
- Stealing – Is Allowed, the catcher must catch the ball prior to the runner attempting to steal a base.
- Infield Fly – Is in effect
- Over Throw – Runner(s) allowed one (1) base
- Timeout – Pitcher or player can call timeout in the 8 ft circle. Runners less than halfway must return to their base.

Grades 7th – 9th Rules Modifications

- Pitching Distance – Forty (40) feet Base Distance – Sixty (60) feet
- Pitching Style – ASA or WIAA rules apply. Both styles require the pitcher to start with both feet on the rubber. ASA only allows for the stride leg to go forward. WIAA allows for the stride leg to take a step back then stride back towards the batter. Should a team have pitchers that intend pitching beyond rec league need to pitch using ASA regulations.
- Pitchers can pitch 3 innings. One pitch in an inning constitutes an inning pitched.
- Runs / At Bat – No maximum, however there is a run rule. Anytime after four (4) innings and a team is ahead by more than 15 runs the game will be over.
- Dropped 3rd Strike – Live ball the batter can advance to first base. The catcher must tag the batter or throw down to first base to confirm the out. This rule applies to all ASA standards.
- Passed ball is a live ball and base runners can advance at their own risk.
- Lead Off – After the ball crosses the plate.
- Stealing – Is allowed after the ball crosses home plate.
- Infield Fly – Is in effect
- Over Throw – Runner(s) allowed one (1) base
- Timeout – Pitcher or player can call it in the 8 ft circle and all runners are held to a base.
