¨ 3 Outs OR after the entire line-up bats will end the inning.
¨ No infield fly rule.
¨ No leads or stealing bases.
¨ Coaches act as umpires. Close calls go to the runner.
¨ Six defensive players are on the infield at one time.
¨ Pitcher – catcher – first base – second base – shortstop - third base
¨ The remaining players are spread evenly in the outfield.
¨ No outfielder is allowed to play any closer to the infield than the edge of the grass or the equivalent distance on fields without infield dirt.
¨ Catcher must wear a helmet, stand 10’ behind the batter, and be accompanied by a coach.
¨ All children play all positions throughout the season.
¨ The only offensive players outside the dugout are base runners, the batter and one on-deck batter. These players must have a helmet on.
¨ All offensive players must wear a helmet.

¨ Use parents as base coaches if needed but remember who the coaches are.
¨ After the Game:
¨ All players and coaches line-up and shake hands. Players then return to the bench for a concession ticket and then are dismissed by their coach.
¨ This alleviates a child taking off without their parents.

7 & 8 Baseball Rules
-
Standard baseball rules apply. No metal spikes are allowed.
-
All players should play all positions throughout the season.
-
Games are scheduled for 90 minutes (30 minutes of practice followed by 60 minutes of game)
Remember you are teaching the fundamentals of the game and preparing the players for 9-10LL or 9-10 Fast Pitch next year. Continue to utilize the 30 minutes of practice the entire season.
-
Innings consist of 3 outs or 10 batters, whichever comes first.
-
After a hit, the play is dead when the ball is in control at a base or the pitcher’s mound, and the runners have stopped trying to advance. Including the 10th batter of the inning.
-
A maximum of nine (9) players are allowed on the field at any one time.
Pitcher – catcher – 4 infielders – 4 outfielders. No outfielder is allowed to play closer to the infield than the edge of the grass or the equivalent distance on fields without infield dirt.
-
The batting order will include all the players attending the game.
-
No lead-offs or stealing allowed. A base runner may leave the base when the batter makes contact with the ball. After 1 warning, a runner leading off is called out.
-
Each batter is allowed 3 swinging strikes. A foul tip on the third strike is not out unless caught by the catcher. There are no walks.
-
If a batter consistently allows good pitches to go by without swinging, he/she must be given a warning. If the batter will not swing at good pitches, the coach must begin calling strikes.
-
One of the coaches will act as the catcher for his/her team.
-
The team at bat will provide a coach to feed the balls into the pitching machine. This coach must not interfere with play or touch a live ball. The coach feeding the pitching machine will act as the umpire at 2nd base.
-
If a batted or thrown ball hits the coach or pitching machine it is a live ball.
-
If a thrown ball goes out of play, the base runner is allowed to advance one base beyond the base he/she was advancing to.
-
Coaches for the first game of the evening need to arrive approximately 20 minutes early to set up and adjust the pitching machine and bases.
-
Coaches from the last game of the evening are responsible for putting the pitching machine and bases away in the field boxes, cleaning the field and dugout areas, and locking the field boxes.
DO NOT PUT BASES ON TOP OF THE PITCHING MACHINE.

9 & 10 LITTLE LEAGUE RULES
GAME PREPARATION
1. At least eight (8) players must be available to play by 15 minutes prior to game time or the team will forfeit the game. Upon a forfeit, a fun game can be played among the players available, only if the coaches from both teams are present for the entire game.
2. All players must wear the uniform issued by M.A.A. for that season. The uniforms may not be altered in any way. Metal spikes, jewelry, casts, braces or splints are not to be worn on the playing field. Athletic cups are highly recommended. Full catcher’s gear is required.
3. Each team’s coaches have the combination for the field boxes. These boxes contain a batting tee, pitching machine, bases, and first aid kit. The teams playing the last game of the evening are responsible for putting the bases and batting tees away, inserting the base pegs and locking the field boxes.
GAME RULES
1. Each game is scheduled for seven (7) innings or 80 minutes
2. No inning will be started after the 80th minute.
3. M.A.A. will supply 1 paid plate umpire for these games. These are FIRST YEAR boys and girls. Please support them. Umpires have the first and last say in calling a game due to inclement weather or lightning.
4. All players present will bat in normal numerical order the entire game.
5. All players present will play a minimum of three (3) innings on defense.
6. Pitchers may pitch a maximum of two (2) innings per game and four (4) innings in a 7-day period. Any pitcher that hits 3 batters in the same inning must be removed from pitching. The player may continue to play, but may not return to pitch that game.
7. A team will field three (3) outfielders on defense. These outfielders may not play on the infield. They must be in the outfield grass or an equivalent distance on a field with no dirt infield.
8. Player substitutions are unlimited. A player may re-enter a game at any time and into any position.
9. A half inning is complete when three outs are made or when a team bats through their order. Each team’s batting order will consist of the same number of players. As an example, if one team has 12 players and the other team has 11 players, each team will be allowed to bat 12 players per inning if 3 outs are not achieved first.
10. No lead offs. The runner may leave the base when the batter makes contact with the ball. No stealing. If the runner leaves early, he will get a warning. The second time, the runner will be called out. If a batter swings and misses the runner returns to the base with no consequences.
11. No stealing is allowed.
12. No balks will be called. If a balk occurs, the coach and/or umpire should instruct the player of the proper technique before he/she resumes pitching.
13. When the bases are loaded, a walk will occur after seven (7) balls are called. This will apply during the entire at bat, even if runners advance on an overthrow.
14. Dropped 3rd strike the batter is out.
15. Infield fly is not in effect. 16. Speed up Rule: Have the catcher’s ready prior to the 3rd out of the inning.
17. All runners must slide at home plate if the ball is in the infield. CRASHING into the catcher is an automatic out.
18. Base distance = 60’ Pitching distance = 46’
As a coach you are a role model for these players. You are to instill into these players the fundamentals of baseball, the importance of teamwork and the value of sportsmanship. The children are to enjoy the game of baseball. Practices are for working hard. Games for fun! Please direct any questions to your league director

Land O Hills Baseball League
11 - 12 Player Pitch Rules2007 Season Note: The purpose of the Land-O-Hills Baseball League is to allow the players to learn the game of baseball and have fun doing so. The league is not run for the benefit of the coaches or the parents of the players. The rules stated below are intended to help carry out this purpose. Should a situation arise not specifically covered in these rules, resolution of the situation should be made keeping this stated purpose in mind.
It is also the intention of the league to maintain a fair level of play amongst all the teams within a community. “Stacking” of teams is not permitted by anyone, including coaches, commissioners and parents. Stacking refers to placing mostly 11 year olds on one team and 12’s on another or selecting the most talented to play on one team and the less talented on another. Rosters should be balanced by age and talent. The commissioners will investigate all complaints and they alone will determine if and what disciplinary action will be taken. Your cooperation is appreciated to keep baseball fun, challenging and rewarding for all of our young players.
Awards: The League will supply 1st and 2nd place trophies after completion of all league games. League games not played by July 24, 2007 that do not affect the determination of the 1st and 2nd place winners, do not have to be played. The team with the best won-loss record in each division will play a championship game as scheduled and the winner will take first place. If a tie exists after all league games are completed, a playoff game must be scheduled and played before July 26, 2007.
Rosters: By April 23, 2007, all teams through their community commissioner must submit a team roster (via electronic media – Microsoft Word or Excel – emailed or on floppy disk) to the League Commissioner that contains the following player information: Name, Address, Phone # and Date of Birth. Rosters must also include the team coach and assistants with the following information: Name, Address, Phone # and email address. April 6, 2007 is the deadline for submitting the coach’s list via the same media. Scheduling: In order to complete the schedule, all information including field availability, field locations, coaches names, phone and email address, preliminary player roster including name, DOB, address and phone number must be completed and received by the league commissioner by no later then April 15th, 2007 or the team may not be included in the league schedule. Individual coaches exception dates (vacations, graduations, scout camps, fieldtrips etc..) to potential game dates can be accommodated but only if exception dates are communicated to the league commissioner by the April 15th deadline.
General Rules
1. Players must not turn 13 before August 1 of the current season.
2. Each team must submit a roster by April 23, 2007. Players may be added to the roster until June 15 by calling the League Commissioner.
3. The home team will keep the official scorebook for both teams. If the score is disputed, the umpire will be the tiebreaker if there is a paid umpire. Otherwise, the two coaches must resolve the dispute. The home team is also responsible for calling (262-673-7218, 8:30 to 10pm) or emailing (morepride3@yahoo.com) the score to the League Commissioner within 1 day after a completed game. Please include the team age group and number. Every team must have an identified individual on the roster who will be responsible to report the game score. Failure to report your score (or report a cancelled or postponed game) within 24 hours after the game is played to the league commissioner could result in a forfeit for the home team. 2007 11-12
4. Scheduled games: Once officially scheduled, games can be cancelled or postponed only because of weather related conditions (by 5pm of game day) including heavy rain, wet, muddy, puddled field or lightning.
5. No protests allowed. Problems can be discussed at the coaches meeting at the end of the season.
6. Players can be called out or ejected for throwing equipment. This decision is up to the umpire, although the umpires should first give a warning unless the incident is intentional or flagrant.
7. Coaches are responsible for the conduct of their team and fans. Heckling by players or fans is not allowed.
