Girls Fast Pitch (7&8 Year Olds)

Girls 7-8 year olds $90.00
- Girls will build on the fundamentals taught in 5-6 coed baseball.
- The first exposure to softball uses a pitching machine
- Players will advance their skills of batting, base-running, throwing, catching and fielding.
- Games are 1 hour in length
- Games are preceeded by a 30 minute practice.
- Games are played evenings at the Merton School Fields.

This league will play in the Lake Country Youth League and surrounding communities.
- This league will follow the Lake Country Youth 9-10 fast pitch rules.
- Baseball spikes are required.
- This league introduces player pitching & catching.
- Full catcher’s gear is required.
- This league is not position specific. Players will rotate through all positions in this league.
- The team’s coaches and/or the player’s parents will umpire the games.
- This league will have 1 scheduled practice (Friday night or Saturday day) & 1-2 games/week.
- This league will only play make-up games on Saturday if other days are not available, and if agreed upon by both teams’ coaches.
- Home games will be played at Merton School Fields.
- This is girl’s first introduction to fast pitch softball. The players advance and build on the skills learned in 5 & 6 and 7 & 8 baseball. The game of softball is first experienced through hitting an 11” softball from a pitching machine and/or a player pitcher. Players are also introduced to the art of pitching fast pitch style. Home games are played at the Merton School Fields with away games being in local towns participating in the Land-O-Hills league.
- In 2001 the MAA softball program changed to fast pitch softball. This allowed the players to be readied for the Arrowhead High School program and to be consistent with the programs in our neighboring communities. MAA also formed a league with surrounding communities to better develop the sport of fast pitch softball and give players an opportunity to play teams outside of their small towns or leagues.

- This is fast pitch as we know it! This league advances and builds on the skills taught in 9 & 10 fast pitch.
- Player pitch is used the entire season with an 11” ball. This age readies players for sanctioned fast pitch at the next level by using advanced modified fast pitch rules. Home games are at the Merton School Fields or Fireman’s Park.
